This is an ambitious project of Hyundai, which is expected to be supported by a new 800cc engine, Hyundai's small car will later be directly pitted against the Tata Nano, Suzuki Alto and micro SAIC.
"We mainly look at the petrol variant, with prices in the range of 200 rupees," said Hyundai India's official statement, as reported by Indianautosblog.
Although previous Hyundai i10 has been marketing which is also a small car, but did not rule out the presence of Tata Nano competitor, they will be marketed side by side.
The prototype of this new small car will cross the road surface in testing in India from mid-2010. The car will be built in a factory near Chennai in which Sriperumbdur Santro, i10, i20, Accent and Verna are being produced.
